Get Away With the Guys at Beaches Ocho Rios in Jamaica

Updated: Nov 29, 2018

Every once & awhile, even guys need to take a break to relax & escape from it all (yes, ladies, that includes you). When you & your pals are craving a bro-mantic vacation, look no further than Jamaica's Beaches Ocho Rios Resort & Golf Club, which features all the amenities you need to kick back, relax & enjoy some fun in the sun.

What to do When you stay at Beaches Ocho Rios, you & your friends will never be left without something to do. By staying at this all inclusive travel destination, you'll be treated to unlimited rounds of golf with complimentary green fees at the Sandals Golf & Country Club. This 18-hole, par-71 course comes complete with a driving range, putting green & breathtaking views of the shimmering ocean & the verdant St. Anne Mountains.

Once you've had your fill of golf, head off on a Caribbean Adventure Tour. These packages allow you to explore the wonders of the island on a river cruise, horseback riding trip, zipline tour, jungle river tubing excursion or Jamaican bobsled ride. Whatever you & your friends want to see in Jamaica, Beaches Ocho Rios is happy to accommodate.

If you're dying for a little fun in the sun, Beaches provides a wide range of watersports to keep you & your buds busy all day long. Jet out into the Caribbean Sea on a kayak, or fly across the ocean on waterskis. Whether you want to ride a paddle board, go scuba diving or try your hand at windsurfing, Beaches has got you covered.

When the sun goes down, things get even hotter in the Caribbean. Your all inclusive resort features plenty of vibrant nightlife, including weekly beach parties that come complete with local food & drink, fire eaters & limbo dancers. If you're hoping to sway to the rhythms of the island, head to Beaches' Liquid nightclub, which is always bumping to house, hip-hop &, of course, reggae tracks.

Where to eat At Beaches Ocho Rios, you'll find five unique dining choices, including Neptunes, which serves up Jamaica's freshest seafood, & Eleanor's, where you'll find elegant local cuisine.

If you want to get out of your resort & explore some of the island's unique eateries, try the Pork Pit on Gloucester Ave. in Montego Bay. Here, you'll find some of the best jerk around, including mouthwatering jerk pork & chicken, slowly cooked over hot coals & pimento wood. In the capital of Kingston, be sure to treat yourself to Norma's on the Terrace, an upscale dining option that mixes fresh Jamaican ingredients like conch & lobster with global flavors.

When to go While Jamaica has fantastic weather all year, it also has distinct high & low seasons as far as tourism is concerned. The island's high season is between mid-December & mid-April. During these times, you'll probably avoid the strenuous Caribbean heat, but will find slightly higher hotel rates. As this is the island's busiest time, you should think about booking your hotel up to a year in advance to secure your accommodations.

On the other hand, mid-April to mid-December is the island's off season. During this time, you may experience hotter temperatures, but could indulge in lower hotel costs & less crowded accommodations. However, keep in mind that because these months don't tend to attract as many tourists, you may find your hotel is working with a smaller staff.

When weighing the pros & cons of the high & low tourist seasons, keep in mind that spring break runs from March to mid-April. If you're looking for beach parties & lots of entertainment, this might not be such a bad thing, but if you're craving a quieter getaway, it's best to book your trip for another time.
