Updated: Nov 29, 2018

Eating different foods & learning about exotic cuisines can be one of the best parts about luxury vacations. Whether you're a novice or an expert in the culinary arts, El Dorado Royale is an ideal spot for Beach Bums to explore some of the best eats not only in Mexico, but across the globe. Voted one of the Condé Nast Traveler's top 100 Hotels in the World, this adults only resort is a foodie paradise & a perfect place for couples, friends & individuals alike to relish in gourmet meals from a variety of cultures.

This spring, El Dorado Royale was selected as the official host of the 2013 Cancun-Riviera Maya Wine & Food Festival after being recognized for its superior culinary achievement. The festival founder, David Amar, commended the resort for its commitment to providing the best in food & service for an "unforgettable gastronomic experience."

El Dorado Royale is also home to Riviera Maya's largest greenhouse, a 100,000-square-foot facility that produces 120 tons of crops & provides fresh produce to the resort as well as its eight sister properties. Guests are invited to taste the greenhouse's fresh vegetables & herbs, including cucumbers, bell peppers, chilies, basil & mint, as well as participate in interactive tours & cooking seminars with the ingredients.

Gourmet Inclusive Upon arrival, you'll be greeted with a welcome glass of champagne. So begins your "Gourmet Inclusive" culinary tour, where you'll likely try foods you've never had before, or perhaps even re-ignite passion for an old favorite dish. This gastronomy-centered all inclusive travel concept is one of the highlights of any guest's experience & is also the reason that El Dorado Royale has won the coveted Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence. A dedicated team of star chefs, many of whom trained at the finest Zagat & Michelin rated restaurants around the world, use only the best quality ingredients in every meal.

Whatever your taste preference, El Dorado Royale serves it. Sample a variety of different selections, including seafood at Jo Jo's Caribbean Seaside Grill, sushi at Kampai, Mexican street bites at Rincon Mexicano or hearty Italian fare at D'Italia Casitas, among other options.

Choose your own fish at El Dorado Royale's fresh market for the chef to prepare for lunch, or savor authentic paella at a beach party. Bring your appetite, because in between all of that, you'll enjoy gourmet à la carte wining & dining at beach picnics & luxury beachfront settings.

Fuentes Culinary Theater The culinary experience at Fuentes is unlike any other. Along with sommelier Paul Sykes, creative chef Julio Gomez prepares a five-course journey to guide guests through a nightly theme, such as traditional Mexican with a twist or islands of the world. The dinner kicks off with a welcome cocktail at 6:30 p.m., but the real fun starts at 7 p.m. Throughout the show, videos & music are played to transport diners to that region. Sykes creates a tailor-made wine pairing for each menu to enhance the meal while explaining his selections through the dinner with Chef Julio.

This is the best time to come to El Dorado Royale, as the resort is partaking in a year-long celebration of gourmet & fine wines for the Jackson Family Wines Culinary Series. The series will spotlight a different noteworthy chef & winemaker each month who will work with the hotel staff to provide special interactive dining experiences. As a guest, you'll get to taste highly sought-after wines, as well as participate in vertical tastings, educational classes with sommeliers, cooking courses, special pairings & an exclusive Guest Chef & Winemaker Dinner.

El Dorado is more than just a lavish luxury hotel in Mexico. It's a place where food & wine enthusiasts can foster their epicurean education & indulge their palate under the stunning Riviera Maya skies.
