We had a FANTASTIC time in Kauai!!! We just ran out of time :) Julie was totally surprised. The book you recommended is a MUST. It was really our guide while we were there.
The lei greeting was very cool. The lei's were beautifully done and lasted almost all week. (We put them in the fridge.) The Jack Harter helicopter tour was phenomenal. The sights were truly amazing. We flew it with the doors off. They seem to be highly respected on the island.
We went to a Marriott recommended luau (sp) called the Smith luau. It was the real deal and worth every penny. Seems to be the one 'genuine' luau on the island. The food was great. The dancing lasted about an hour and featured true natives. Really, really great.
Snorkeling was great as expected. Saw some really cool stuff. Poipu beach and Lydgate are the recommended areas.
The Marriott property was totally awesome. Everyone there was very helpful. The appointments were gorgeous.
I could go on and on and on. It was truly a vacation of a lifetime. Thanks for all your help. You did a wonderful job.
